The Vincennes Police Department has four new officers.
They were all officially sworn in at Monday’s Board of Public Works and Safety Meeting.
That means that 37 of 38 Officer positions have been filled, however the Police Department announced they are continuing to increase their roster of officers as they expand their presence in the local schools.
VPD Chief Jon Hillenbrand says testing to join the department happens this weekend.
Chief Hillenbrand adds that they are looking to hire a total of 7 new school resource officers thanks to grant funding.
