WVUB PROMOTIONS COORDINATOR/ON-AIR HOST
Vincennes University is seeking applicants for the WVUB Promotions Coordinator/On-Air Host position. This is a full-time professional staff position located at the VU Main site. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in planning, coordinating, and executing promotional events and activities for WVUB. The ideal candidate is a creative and organized individual who can enhance the station’s brand visibility and engage with the community and listeners. The Promotions Coordinator will work closely with the General Manager, Underwriting Account Executive and external partners to create memorable experiences that drive listener loyalty and underwriting satisfaction.
Duties and Responsibilities
–Event Planning and Execution: Propose, organize and oversee on-site and off-site promotional events, including concerts, remote broadcasts, community events, and contests.
–Brand Management: Ensure all promotional activities align with the station’s brand image and messaging.
–Collaboration: Work with the sales team to develop and implement promotional campaigns that support client objectives.
–Audience Engagement: Develop strategies to engage listeners through social media, email newsletters, and other digital platforms.
–Logistics Coordination: Handle logistics for events, including venue selection, vendor coordination, permits, and scheduling.
–Promotional Materials: Create and distribute promotional materials such as flyers, banners, and giveaways.
–On-Air Promotion: Coordinate on-air promotions and contests, including web page and contest rules and waivers, prize fulfillment and winner communication.
–Budget Management: Assist in managing the promotional budget and track expenses to ensure cost-effectiveness.
–Documentation & Reporting: Prepare post-event reports detailing the success of promotional activities and provide recommendations for future events.
–Other duties as assigned.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
–Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with a focus on successful time-management.
–Strong written and verbal communication skills.
–Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms.
–Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
–Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
–Experience producing and hosting both live and “tracked” radio shows.
–Knowledge of the radio industry and current market trends is a plus.
–Understanding of FCC rules and regulations for executing on-air/web-based contests & promotions.
–Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth, rapidly changing culture and environment.
–Associates Degree in Broadcasting/Media, Marketing, Public Relations or related field preferred.
–1-3 years of experience in promotions, event planning, marketing, broadcasting, or related field.
–Must hold a valid driver’s license.
