The Knox County Sheriff’s Office arrested Amy McCarter following a citizen tip. She was featured in the Sheriff’s Department’s Wanted Wednesday post last week.
Monday at 12:45pm, McCarter was spotted in a parking lot at 6th and Niblack Streets in Vincennes. A Knox County deputy found her sitting in a parked car and took her into custody.
During the arrest, a loaded handgun was found in McCarter’s possession.
As a convicted felon, she is prohibited from carrying a firearm.
McCarter was transported to the Knox County Jail and booked on two active felony warrants for auto theft and domestic battery in the presence of a child.
She also faces a new charge of possession of a handgun by a serious violent felon, a level 6 felony.
