A Vincennes business owner is competing for a national award that includes a $25,000 prize and mentorship from a well-known entrepreneur.

Katelyn Ice, a local entrepreneur, is participating in the Entrepreneur of Impact competition, which began on January 20. The competition features multiple elimination rounds where entrepreneurs from across the country seek online votes to advance.

The first round concluded on January 30, narrowing the field to the top 20 in each group. The winner will receive $25,000, a feature in Forbes, and a one-on-one mentoring session with Shark Tank investor Daymond John.

Public voting is ongoing as several rounds of the competition remain. Supporters are allowed one free vote per day at entrepreneurofimpact.org. Additional votes can be purchased, with proceeds benefiting GENYOUth, a nonprofit focused on improving student nutrition and physical activity in schools.

Ice, who has been active in the local business community since 2018, is encouraging community support as she competes in the remaining rounds.
