Daviess County is seeking public feedback as work begins on a countywide bike and pedestrian plan.

The Daviess County Economic Development Corporation is developing a bike and pedestrian master plan intended to identify routes and improve connections for people who walk or ride bicycles throughout the county. The plan looks at transportation needs ranging from commuting to work and traveling to school to running errands and recreational activity.

Funding for the planning process includes support from a grant through the Indiana State Department of Health. According to a report from the Southern Indiana Business Report, the plan is designed to help county leaders identify priorities for future programs, policies, and infrastructure related to walking and bicycling.

The project also aims to better understand how often residents currently walk or bike and explore ways to increase those numbers over time.

Residents can take part in the planning process by completing a survey and using an interactive map through the project website. Public feedback gathered during the comment period will help shape the county’s long-term bike and pedestrian vision.

The initial public comment period continues through June 30, 2026. More information about the project is available through the Daviess County Economic Development Corporation.
