The annual Heaps of Jeeps Festival returns to Vincennes this weekend, raising money to support local first responders.
Festival leaders say one of the biggest misconceptions about the event is that it’s only for Jeep owners, however those who don’t own a Jeep or never have owned one are invited and encouraged to attend and participate.
Activities include live music, food trucks, a dinosaur exhibit, children’s activities, a silent auction, a 50-50 raffle and a beer garden. Organizers say visitors can also see hundreds of Jeeps on display while helping support first responders throughout the area. Jeep owners can participate in a Jurassic Jeep Jam Poker Run this year.
The festival is Friday and Saturday at Highland Woods in Vincennes. Gates open at 5 p.m. each night.
The cost is a ten-dollar festival pass donation. Children under 15 and first responders with identification are admitted free.
