A candlelight prayer vigil will be held tonight for those affected by Saturday’s fatal crash in Pike County.
The crash happened during a police pursuit on State Road 64 when police say the fleeing vehicle crossed the centerline and struck the Wertman family’s minivan head-on a few miles east of State Road 257.
The vigil will begin at 8 p.m. Eastern in the east-side student parking lot at Pike Central High School.
Organizers say the gathering will include prayers for the Wertman family and for two girls who remain hospitalized following the crash.
Indiana State Police say 41-year-old Amanda Wertman of Winslow and the driver of another vehicle died at the scene of the crash on State Road 64. Wertman’s eight-year-old daughter later died at a Louisville hospital.
There are GoFundMe pages set up for the affected families to help with medical and other expenses.
