Washington officials are asking for the public’s help as they investigate a series of suspected arson fires.
Washington Firefighters Local 495 says approximately 15 structure fires believed to be connected to arson have occurred in the city during the past four months.
The Washington Fire and Police departments are investigating with the Indiana State Fire Marshal’s Office. Residents are encouraged to check security-camera recordings and report suspicious people, vehicles or activity. Officials say residents should not confront anyone or place themselves in danger.
Tips may be submitted to Daviess County Central Dispatch at 812-254-1060 or the Indiana Department of Homeland Security Arson Hotline at 1-800-382-4628. A reward of up to five-thousand dollars is available for information leading to an arrest.
