Amazon’s new delivery station in Vincennes is officially open and packages are already moving through the facility.
The 104-thousand-square-foot station is serving customers in Knox County and the surrounding area. Amazon says about 170 jobs have been created at the facility, along with additional opportunities for delivery drivers.
The Vincennes location is the last stop for packages before they head to customers. Shipments arrive from other Amazon facilities, are sorted and loaded onto delivery vehicles for their final trip.
Knox County Commissioners President T.J. Brink says the opening means more jobs for local residents and another investment in the county.
Amazon says the Vincennes station is part of its ongoing expansion into smaller and rural communities across the country.
