Progress proceeds on Washington Ave. and SR 67

Milling operations will continue today along Washington Avenue and should be complete by the end of the day.

City engineers in the Vincennes Mayor’s office report that concrete base removal will commence tomorrow and once the concrete is removed, storm sewer installation will continue along Washington Ave. to Old Orchard.

Once that section is completed, the next section of storm sewer installation will begin at Emison Ave.

The work is all part of the latest phase of the Washington Avenue project which has closed the street from Niblack Blvd. to Emison Ave.

Side streets along this section are also closed at Washington Ave.

Access to Washington Learning Center will remain from Washington Ave. at Emison Ave.

The first driveway into that parking lot will remain open. Gregg Park is accessible from the Niblack Blvd. only and is operating in a counter clockwise traffic pattern.

In northern Knox County, reconstruction of State Road 67 through Bicknell continues.

The Indiana Department of Transportation plans lane restrictions to being on or around March 4th which is one week from today.

INDOT says lanes will narrow between Miami Street to Mary Street,

There will be a 12 foot restriction for both directions of travel.

Mason Street on the north side of 67 will be closed during the work.
