If thunderstorms happen this evening and overnight it will be between 7pm and 4am Eastern Time.
Earlier today the experts put the threat of severe weather at 2 or slight rise on a zero to 5 scale.
However, that risk was elevated at midday to a 3 to 6 which means an enhanced risk for storms.
The Knox County Emergency Management Agency says people should stay alert and aware and they urge Knox County residents to sign up for the free CodeRed Emergency Notification service.
CodeRed is a rapid emergency notification service which will distribute emergency messages via telephone, to targeted areas or the entire county at a rate of 1,000 calls per minute.
The service can be used in case of fires, chemical spills, evacuations, lock downs, downed power lines, lost individuals, natural disasters, abductions, water system problems, bomb threats, or other emergencies.
