Chamber of Commerce announces more award winners

Knox County Emergency Management Director John Streeter is the Public Servant of the Year.

The honor comes from the Knox County Chamber of Commerce.

The award is given each year to those who  protect the wellness of the community by going beyond what is expected of them.

Chamber President Jamie Neal says Streeter embodies the essence of the award with his extensive service and commitment to the community.

Streeter will be officially recognized as the recipient at next week’s annual Chamber of  Commerce Banquet.

Also announced today was the  C. James McCormick Community Leader of the award.

This year that went to Susan Brocksmith for her contributions to the county.

Scott Utt, Board Chair of the Knox County Chamber of Commerce, praises Susan’s outstanding leadership, stating, “Susan is very deserving of this award. She is a great community leader who wants to see Knox County thrive. Her commitment to service is evident in her tireless efforts to make our community a better place for future generations.”

Both Streeter and Brocksmith as well as the Business Woman of the Year, Anne Pratt; Educator of the Year, Kelly McCarty; Small Business of the Year, Hometown Hearing; Large Business of the Year, AME Group and Non Profit of the Year, The Blue Jeans Center will be honored and recognized at the annual chamber banquet on May 1st.
