Interim South Knox High School Basketball Coach Jim Farris has been approved as permanent coach.
The South Knox School Board approved the action at Tuesday night’s regular school board meeting.
Farris who was Junior Varsity Coach was named interim head coach back in November.
Farris wrapped up his first year leading the team earlier this Spring.
Farris was put in the position after former coach David Burkett’s contract was terminated following a suspension by the IHSAA for what they said were violations of the the limited contact rule.
Burkett filed a civil suit against the South Knox School Corporation and the Indiana High School Athletic Association.
Last month a change of venue to Marion County was granted and the case is now pending in Marion Superior Court.
