The 50th anniversary of National EMS week has been extra special in Knox County.

Thursday, those with the local EMS department and Good Samaritan gathered for a ribbon cutting for the new 3 bay ambulance barn located on South 7th Street on the hospital campus.

The new building comes nearly two years into a partnership with Knox County and Good Samaritan to provide EMS and ambulance service to the entire county.

EMS Director Tim Benningfield has been pleased with the results…

Hospital C-E-O Rob Mclin called it a great day adding it was nice to commemorate EMS week with the opening of the ambulance garage….

Knox County Council President Rich Chatting attended the ribbon cutting giving praise to the successful collaboration….

This year’s theme for EMS week has been  “’Honoring Our Past, Forging Our Future” and is meant to remind all of the proud history of the profession and contributions of EMS practitioners over the decades as well as focusing on the future by evolving and innovating to ensure EMS has the support needed to help the public.
