It is Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.

It was established by the federal government in 1994 as a day to remember the 2400 people killed in a surprise Japanese attack on the US at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii on December 7th 1941 marking the entry of the US into World War 2.

Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb has directed that American Flags be flown at half-staff in honor of the day through sunset.

He’s requesting that individuals and businesses also lower their flags.
