One of the designated warming centers in Vincennes will close for a time starting Wednesday.

Vincennes Mayor Joe Yochum says that the St. Paul Lutheran Church on Broadway Street, which has been open 24/7 for several days will closed at 8-am Wednesday when temps are expected to rebound.

The church will reopen on Thursday at 5-pm and be open through Noon Sunday January 21st.

Yochum gave thanks to those who donated when the call was put out for help in supplying resources to pay for food, hygiene and other basic needs for weather emergencies.

One of those donors was the Duke Energy Foundation giving $5000 to the center.

Monetary donations are still being accepted at Vincennes Fire Department Headquarters on Vigo Street or at  City Hall Monday through Friday from 8 to 4.

Meanwhile other centers continue to operate for the next few days.

They are:

The library in Vincennes on North 7th from 8:30 to 5 pm through this Saturday.

The Salvation Army on North 2nd from 8 to 3  through Thursday.

At STOA at 418 Main Street next to the Pocket Park in downtown Vincennes from 10 to 5 today through Friday.
