Knox County will go for the max in Community Crossings Matching Grant funds.

County Highway Superintendent Matt Holden appeared before the county commissioners this week and says he will be applying for nearly $2,235,000

That’s in order to make sure the county can get the maximum $1.5 million in state grant funding to be used for road paving.

He says last year the maximum grant amount was a million dollars but the county lost out on the maximum…

The grant application requires a 30 percent local match which the commissioners approved.

Holden says if the grant is received,  the paving dollars will be used on roads throughout the county.
