A Knox County Commissioner is running for state office

Kellie Streeter, a Republican announced on Wednesday she has filed to run for Indiana House District 45.

Streeter was elected as the first female County Commissioner 2016 and represents District 3 which is northern Knox County

She currently serves as President of the three member board.

In a news release, Streeter says she will  focus her campaign for State Representative on advocating for solutions to the challenges that directly affect the quality of life of communities and families in Southwest Indiana.

Specifically, Streeter promised to be an advocate for local control, infrastructure funding, and accessible healthcare.

Indiana House District 45 covers all of Greene and Sullivan County and portions of Knox, Daviess and Vigo Counties.

The seat is currently held by Republican Bruce Borders of Jasonville.
