Excitement is building for the total solar eclipse.

Vincennes and Knox County sit at the center of totality on April 8th where there will the most minutes of darkness when the moon passes in front of the sun at 3:08-pm that afternoon.

One week from today on Thursday February 8th, Fred Espanak, known as Mr. Eclipse, will speak at 11am and 6:30pm at the Red Skelton Performing Arts Center at VU.

VU Dean of Science, Engineering and Math, Curt Coffman points out that Espanak is one of the top eclipse experts in the US.

The 6:30 pm showing will also have musicians from IU School of Music performing in the lobby, as well as joining the Amplified Music Project and VU’s bandmaster, Susie Jackson, to perform “The Final Countdown” on stage.  Both showings are free and open to the public.

The talk will be live streamed on the  Vincennes PBS YouTube Channel HERE.
