
The past weekend was jam packed with summertime activities and festivals and the coming weekend will be no different.
Downtown Vincennes saw an influx of visitors to the Downtown Vincennes Association’s Summer on Main event as food trucks, kids activities and live music filled Main Street from 1st to 6th Street.
On Saturday, skaters from all over participated in a nationally celebrated skateboarding day at Lester Square Park and the 7th annual Rainbow Over the Bridge Festival at it’s new location proved to be a success as organizers praised the volunteers and the Saturday evening of entertainment at the French Commons.
Coming up this Saturday the town of Bicknell will hold their annual Freedom Bash, meanwhile Celebrate Freedom Day happens at the McGrady Brockman House across from the library in Vincennes. It’s a Juneteenth observance with music, food, demonstrations and history talks. In addition, the Wheatland Museum will hold an open house this Saturday and a local group known as the Irreverent Warriors, a group dedicated to the mental health of military vets will hold a march through town.
