The Wheatland Museum will welcome visitors this Saturday evening during a special open house from 4 to 8 p.m.

The museum is located in the former Robinson School, a historic building now owned by William Powell of the Wheatland Lions Club. Powell has turned the space into a local museum filled with Wheatland history.

Inside, visitors will find a wide range of memorabilia—school photographs, business advertisements, family portraits, and vintage collectibles from Wheatland’s past. Many items belong to Powell, while others were donated by area families.

Admission is free, and guests can enjoy hamburgers, drinks, root beer floats, and orange floats served outside the museum. Freewill offerings will be accepted both at the food area and inside the museum.

Powell says all donations will support maintenance costs at Wheatland Park.  “The Lions Club owns the Wheatland Park and so we have to raise money to maintain that park like mowing every week and things like that and insurance,” he said. “So it takes some money to do that. So I come up with this idea of having the museum opened up for people who want to see it. It’s full.”
