Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating after the body of a Washington woman was recovered from the White River on Thursday.

Authorities were called to the Maysville Public Access Site around 9:30 a.m. after a group of swimmers reported two individuals had been swept downriver.

Officers rescued one of the victims, a juvenile, who was found on a sand bar downstream. The juvenile was taken to Daviess Community Hospital for medical evaluation.

The body of 21-year-old Kathrynn Bottoms of Washington was later recovered by DNR personnel.
