Vincennes University is teaming up with Walmart to offer technician training for store associates.

Indiana’s First College made the announcement last week.

The Associate to Technician, or A2T, program is expanding to Vincennes after a successful pilot in Texas. It combines hands-on experience with classroom learning in areas like electrical work, refrigeration, and troubleshooting.

VU says associates don’t need a degree to participate—just commitment and managerial approval.

All 108 graduates from the Dallas-Fort Worth pilot landed technician jobs averaging $32 an hour.

The program now aims to train 4,000 Walmart associates nationwide by 2030.
