Vincennes University students are combining art, food, and service this Friday for the annual Empty Bowls fundraiser.
The VU Ceramics Club and Culinary Arts program are teaming up to sell about one hundred handmade bowls at fifteen dollars each. Every purchase includes soup prepared by Culinary Arts students, with three varieties available, including a vegetarian option.
All proceeds go to Helping His Hands Food Pantry in time for Thanksgiving.
Organizers say the goal is to fight food insecurity while encouraging students to give their time and talents to help others.
The event runs from 11:30 to 2 at the Center for Art and Design, and the public is invited to support the effort.
