Daviess Community Hospital in Washington is receiving national recognition for its patient experience. The hospital earned multiple Breakthrough Awards at the 25th Annual HealthCare Service Excellence Conference in Texas.
The awards honor hospitals that excel in categories measured by federal patient surveys. DCH received several top-tier Emerald and Ruby Awards for areas including overall hospital rating, communication from doctors and nurses, medication explanations, and maintaining a clean and quiet environment. Staff responsiveness also ranked above national performance levels.
The hospital was additionally recognized for year-over-year improvement, earning Bronze and Silver Awards for gains in medication communication and cleanliness.
Hospital leaders say the honors reflect a culture of service excellence and a commitment to five-star care for patients in southwestern Indiana.
