The Indiana State Police say they are investigating a series of “swatting” incidents targeting members of the Indiana General Assembly.

Swatting involves making a false report of an emergency to trigger a heavy law enforcement response. State Police say the recent cases were intentionally directed at lawmakers and created potentially dangerous situations for everyone involved.

Investigators are working with local, county, and federal partners to identify who is behind the incidents. ISP says they plan to pursue criminal charges to the fullest extent of the law once suspects are identified.

State Police are asking for the public’s help. Anyone with information about the incidents is urged to contact the Indiana Intelligence Fusion Center at in.gov/iifc/
