The Vincennes State Historic Sites will kick off their holiday happenings this Friday. The season opens with the free Christmas Candlelight Tour from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., giving visitors a chance to walk through Indiana’s territorial capital and learn about holiday traditions from costumed interpreters.

A major returning favorite—the Christmas Tavern Dinner on December 12th—is already sold out.

Holiday events continue across the Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites system, including Christmas in New Harmony December 5th through 7th with carriage rides, children’s activities, live performances, and craft vendors.

Angel Mounds in Evansville will host hands-on holiday crafting events and its annual Winter Solstice Alignment program December 19th and 20th, offering sunset views and insight into the Mississippian culture that once inhabited the site.

Most events require advance registration.
