Vincennes is packed with holiday activity tonight and Saturday as downtown celebrations continue and a Christmas stage production opens.
The First City Christkindlmarkt and Festival gets underway downtown with market hours today from noon to 6 and Saturday from 11 to 3, featuring holiday vendors and seasonal shopping in and around the square.
Tonight at 6 is the community Christmas Tree Lighting then the annual Parade of Lights kicks off at 6:30 downtown. Be sure and watch for Vincennes PBS and WVUB in a Vincennes Trolley with Cookie Monster and the Community Learning Kitchen.
Meanwhile, Old Town Players opens its December production of The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus tonight. The show is based on the story by Wizard of Oz author L. Frank Baum and follows the childhood of Santa Claus and how he came to become the figure known around the world.
Performances are scheduled for tonight, Saturday and Sunday, with additional shows next weekend, December 12th through the 14th, at the Old Town Players Theatre on Broadway in Vincennes.
