Fire officials say five buildings in Lyons are now considered a total loss after a fire late Wednesday night near State Road 67 and Wine Street.
Crews from the Lyons and Linton Fire Departments were first called to the scene around 8 Wednesday evening. Firefighters remained on scene for several hours and were later called back around 4 Thursday morning after the fire rekindled.
Investigators say the fire is believed to have started because of an electrical issue. Multiple departments from across the region assisted as crews worked to contain the fire.
No injuries have been reported.
