The Knox County Chamber of Commerce is preparing for a leadership change.
Chamber officials say President Jamie Neal has submitted her resignation after eight years with the organization. Her final day will be January 23.
During her time as president, chamber membership grew significantly, and new programs were added to support local businesses. In 2021, the Knox County Chamber was named Indiana Chamber of the Year. That same year, Neal received the Indiana Chamber Executive of the Year award.
Neal also led the Shop Knox County eGift Card Buy One Get One program. Chamber officials say the effort has directed more than 500-thousand dollars back into local businesses through partnerships with the City of Vincennes, Knox County government, and other groups.
Neal has accepted a new professional opportunity. Details are expected to be released soon.
In a statement, Past Board Chair Chriss Hertel credited Neal with strengthening business relationships and expanding chamber programs.
Neal said her decision was difficult, but she is proud of the chamber’s work and thankful for the support of staff and board members.
A search committee will be formed, and a job description for the next chamber president will be released publicly.
