The new Center for Health Sciences and Innovative Learning at Vincennes University is now open and in use this spring semester.

The $33.9 million facility is the largest single building project in the university’s history, made possible through state funding. It sits along Indianapolis Avenue on the former site of Harrison Hall.

Ground was officially broken in February of 2024 and construction has been ongoing ever since.

The two-story, more than 72-thousand square-foot building nearly doubles the space previously available for health sciences programs. Classes and labs are already underway, with smart classrooms, offices, and student study and lounge areas now being used.

A major feature is the clinical simulation space, including high-fidelity manikins, virtual-reality tools, and video systems to support hands-on training.

Programs in the building include nursing, surgical technology, physical therapist assistant, pharmacy technology, and funeral service education.

An official ribbon cutting is set for next month.
