The Pike County Park and Recreation Board will present its proposed five-year master plan at a public meeting this week.

The plan is based on input collected from residents through a survey over the past six months and outlines priorities for parks and programs through 2031. The Indiana 15 Regional Planning Commission assisted in developing the draft, which has been submitted to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.

Public comments and feedback from the D-N-R will be added before a final version is sent for state approval in April. An approved plan is required for the county to qualify for state and federal grant funding.

The meeting is set for this Thursday at seven p-m at the park office in Prides Creek Park.
