Vincennes and Knox County tourism officials are highlighting a full schedule of local events in March.

Janice Barniak, Director of the Vincennes/Knox County Visitors and Tourism Bureau, outlined several upcoming activities during a radio interview this week.

Barniak said one of the events is at the Red Skelton Museum. Barniak said the museum is continuing its comedy film series with a screening of “Driving Miss Daisy” at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

On Thursday, Barniak said the Ag Day Supper will take place at the VU P.E. Complex. She said doors open at 5 p.m.

Looking ahead to the weekend, Barniak said an Indiana Territory walk tied to the America 250 effort will give participants the option of a 5K or 10K route through town past historic locations.

She also said Grouseland will host its Second Saturday speaker series at 2 p.m., featuring portrayals of women from Revolutionary history.

Later in the month, Barniak said a Journey tribute show called “Resurrection” is planned March 20 as part of a Vincennes University alumni series.

She also said comedian Amber Clear is scheduled to perform March 28 at Golden Touch.

Barniak said March 28 and 29 will also feature a World War I reenactment called “The Great War” event.

In addition, she said museums across the community are planning children’s activities on March 28. Those include Kite Day at George Rogers Clark National Historical Park, a soap ball activity at Grouseland, a Revolutionary War scavenger hunt at the state historic sites, and an art activity at the Red Skelton Museum.

Barniak said people can find more information about area events on the tourism bureau’s website, visitvincennes.org, and on its Facebook page, where weekend event listings are posted each Thursday.
