A registered sex offender was taken into custody today at Oakland City Primary School.
Authorities say it happened around 10:47 this morning. East Gibson School Corporation School Resource Officer Donna Huber alerted officers after 47-year-old Branden Willis of Somerville entered the school’s office area.
Officer Huber, along with school administrators, remained with Willis until additional officers arrived.
Willis was taken into custody without incident. He was transported to the Gibson County Detention Center. He is charged with unlawful entry of school property by a serious sexual offender, a Level 6 felony.
A similar unrelated incident happened earlier this week in Daviess County. Authorities say Stephen Wayne Aishe of Washington also entered a school and was later charged with unlawful entry of school property by a serious sexual offender.
Details of that arrest were not released.
