A Pike County man has been sentenced in a drug case.

According to the Pike County Prosecutor’s Office, 60-year-old Roger D. McCord of Stendal was sentenced to 12 years in the Indiana Department of Correction.

The sentence includes six years for dealing in a Schedule Two controlled substance, enhanced to a Level Four felony due to a prior conviction, and an additional six years as a habitual offender.

The sentence stems from a March 17th ruling in Pike Circuit Court.

Court documents state the case began with a traffic stop in April of 2025 near Stendal during a drug investigation.

Officers reported finding drug paraphernalia and later obtained search warrants for McCord’s camper.

Authorities say additional evidence of drug preparation was located, and McCord admitted to purchasing synthetic cathinone online.

Laboratory testing confirmed the substance as alpha-PHP.

McCord entered a guilty plea as part of an agreement with a 16-year sentencing cap.
