Sullivan County leaders are moving forward with a major industrial development project.
A new large-scale industrial campus is being planned at Heartland Industrial Park in Sullivan County. The project is designed to attract industries including light manufacturing, data centers, logistics, and advanced technology.
According to information released Monday, the development includes a proposed multi-phase investment estimated at around 65 billion dollars, making it one of the largest economic projects in Indiana.
Plans call for infrastructure development, including road construction and utility improvements, along with job creation during both the construction phase and long-term operations.
As part of that effort, the Sullivan County Commissioners on Monday signed both a road agreement and a community enhancement agreement with Heartland Industrial Park to support the project moving forward.
The development is expected to be built out over multiple years as additional tenants are secured.
