Pike County prosecutors say a Petersburg man told investigators he organized an Easter egg hunt where eggs for adults were filled with marijuana.

The Pike County Prosecutor’s Office says the statement came during an investigation tied to a search warrant served Monday at a home on North State Road 57.

According to the prosecutor’s office, four Petersburg residents are now facing charges.

They are 37-year-old Brandy N. Davis, 40-year-old Keith Peter Kingsley, 40-year-old Sherry Sue Dillon, and 18-year-old Jalon Reyes. All face various marijuana-related charges, while Davis is also charged with neglect of a dependent.

The prosecutor’s office says Pike County Sheriff’s Deputy Aaron Hadley reported detecting the odor of marijuana when he arrived at the home and stated that Davis admitted to smoking marijuana. A three-year-old child was present in the residence at the time.

According to officers, a search warrant was obtained after consent to search was denied. Investigators reported finding marijuana, paraphernalia, and smoking devices inside the home, along with unprescribed pills and a rolled dollar bill containing a white powder.

According to investigators, Kingsley later told officers he organized the egg hunt, placing eggs containing marijuana for adults in trees while hiding eggs for children in the yard.

Officers also reported the home was in poor condition, with insect infestations, neglected pet areas, and an animal kept in a kennel near the front door.
