
Knox County United Way says that its tax assistance program was well attended and plans to unveil its mobile outreach unit soon.
Scott Charleston, the Executive Director, revealed in a recent interview that the organization assisted around 300 people during its VITA Tax Service in February when they provided free tax preparation with volunteer aid in the Knox County Public Library.
According to Charleston, there were more applications than what could be handled during the program.
The organization is currently completing its “United on Wheels” bus that will provide food distribution, job application assistance, mental health assessment, and mobile ultrasound in various parts of the county.
Charleston said that the organization hopes to launch its mobile outreach unit in early summer and possibly make it attend the county fair.

*Day of Caring Event on September 17th and 18th
