A traffic change tied to the U.S. 41 bridge replacement project near Princeton started today.

Traffic is shifting from the northbound lanes to the southbound lanes of U.S. 41 between County Road 300 South and County Road 100 West.

The change comes as work begins on replacing the northbound bridge. Crews recently completed work on the southbound bridge.

As part of the new traffic pattern, the off-ramp from southbound U.S. 41 to County Road 300 South will reopen. However, the on-ramp from County Road 300 South to northbound U.S. 41 will close during this phase of construction.

Drivers needing northbound access will be detoured south on U.S. 41 to County Road 550 and then back north on the highway.

The overall project is expected to continue through the end of the year, depending on weather conditions. INDOT is reminding drivers to slow down and stay alert in work zones.
