A man who admitted to shooting 4 people in Gibson County last week was in court Monday.
77-year-old Patrick J. Waite of Haubstadt was officially charged with 3 counts of Murder and 1 count of Attempted Murder in connection with last Thursday’s incident on Scottsdale Drive near Haubstadt
According to reports and court documents, Waite called 911 after the incident and surrendered peacefully to police.
The victims were identified as Waite’s wife, 61-year-old Alma Waite and also 81-year-old Gloria Tapia Garcia and 39-year-old Fernando Tapia Ramirez Sr. The 4th victim survived after being shot.
Autopsies on the deceased were scheduled for Monday with official results pending.
At his initial hearing on Monday, a not guilty plea was entered on his behalf in Gibson Superior Court. His next court date was scheduled for July 21st.
