The Vincennes Salvation Army, led by Captain Joey Gates, is organizing a “Stuff the Trailer” school supply drive this Friday to benefit local teachers. The even

t will take place at the Vincennes Walmart from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Gates says the goal is to collect essential items teachers often pay for out of pocket, such as pencils, craft supplies, and snacks for students. Donations can be dropped off directly at Walmart during the event or at the Salvation Army office at 2300 North Second Street.

A full suggested supply list is available on the Salvation Army Vincennes Facebook page, along with links to Walmart and Amazon registries for those who prefer to shop online. Gates emphasized that helping teachers with supplies not only eases their financial burden but also directly supports students’ classroom needs.

The Salvation Army is also continuing to seek donations for its food pantry, which serves 80 to 100 people weekly. Updates about the drive and other programswill be shared on the Salvation Army Vincennes Facebook page.
