An event has been organized to benefit the family of Taylor Hendershot and raise awareness of domestic violence.

The motorcycle and vehicle ride will take place Sunday, August 24. Hendershot, 27, died in a shooting in Vincennes on August 5.

Sign-ups begin at 9:45 a.m. at Fastbreak on 6th Street in Vincennes, with kickstands up at 10:30. The ride will travel through Lawrenceville, Mount Carmel, and Princeton before returning to Vincennes for a moment of silence.

The cost is $20 per bike or vehicle, with all proceeds going to Hendershot’s family.

Organizers of the ride are emphasizing that help is available for those in dangerous domestic situations by calling the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800-799-7233 or texting START to 88788.
