There was no comment during a public hearing Monday on the Vincennes Community School Corporation 2026 budget.
The budget totals just over $44 million across four funds. That includes $24.8 million for the Education Fund, $4.6 million for Debt Service, $10.6 million for Operations, and $4 million for the Rainy Day Fund. The advertised maximum levy is $10.6 million, with a proposed tax rate of 1.3263.
Board members noted the budget is intentionally advertised higher than expected to ensure the school corporation can capture its full levy. Final approval will come from the Indiana Department of Local Government and Finance by December 31.
The budget is expected to be approved by the board at their October meeting.
