A Mount Carmel, Illinois man was arrested early Tuesday morning following a traffic stop in Gibson County.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Eric Powell pulled over a 1998 black Jeep for speeding on U.S. 41 near County Road 950 South just after midnight. During the stop, Powell said he noticed signs that the driver, 23-year-old Logan Griffith, appeared to be under the influence of an intoxicant.
After conducting a roadside investigation, Powell determined there was probable cause to believe Griffith was intoxicated. Griffith was taken to the Gibson County Detention Center and charged with Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated and Possession of Marijuana.
