The Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation’s annual Denim and Diamonds Gala will return this Saturday, November 15, at 6 p.m. at the Highland Woods Community Center in Vincennes.
Foundation Director Bryan Baker said the event marks the return of the organization’s largest annual fundraiser, which supports scholarships for future health care professionals.
This year’s gala will include a catered dinner, live music by Buck Rogers Clark, and the introduction of the new Good Samaritan Leadership Awards. The inaugural honors will go to board president Helen Sharp and director of nursing Pat Summers.
Baker said helping students pursue careers in health care remains at the heart of the foundation’s mission.
“We have a number of different scholarships and start with the high school students. We give a Beacon of Excellence scholarship to one high school senior from the schools in our area. You know, we also have like a nursing student nursing internship program. Really excited about that. We have two students this year going to receive $10,000 scholarships each,” Baker said.
