The Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation’s Denim and Diamonds Gala will take place Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Highland Woods Community Center.
Director Bryan Baker says the event marks the return of the foundation’s largest annual fundraiser, which supports scholarships for future health care workers.
The evening will feature a catered dinner, live music from Buck Rogers Clark, and the presentation of the inaugural Good Samaritan Leadership Awards to board president Helen Sierp and longtime director of nursing Pat Summers.
“We have a number of different scholarships and start with the high school students. We give a Beacon of Excellence scholarship to one high school senior from the schools in our area. You know, we also have like a nursing student nursing internship program. Really excited about that. We have two students this year going to receive $10,000 scholarships each, so we want to be that entity that provides scholarships and then also helps to provide workers for Good Samaritan Hospital,” Baker said.
