The long-awaited opening of the Lothian and Red Skelton Gallery of Fine Art happens this week at the Red Skelton Museum of American Comedy in Vincennes.
The new gallery, under construction for about a year, officially opens to the public tomorrow (Tuesday) at 10.am.
Museum Executive Director Anne Pratt said the addition expands the museum experience with a new fine art space connected to the existing exhibits.
Meanwhile, Lothian Skelton, widow of the legendary comedian, said the finished gallery exceeded her expectations, praising the color, design, and layout, and adding that Red would have been deeply moved by the tribute.
A special preview for members, corporate sponsors, and community partners was held Sunday. Again the museum opens Tuesday (tomorrow) at 10 a.m.
