The man involved in last month’s officer-involved shooting in Sullivan is now in custody.
The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Department says 31-year-old Kylan Holbert was released from an Indianapolis hospital and taken into custody by Indiana State Police. He’s now being held in the Sullivan County Jail.
Holbert was shot by a sheriff’s deputy on November 18th after police say he charged at officers with a knife during a domestic call on South Bell Street. A woman at the scene had visible injuries but declined treatment.
Holbert is now charged with multiple felonies, including aggravated battery, intimidation with a deadly weapon, battery with a deadly weapon, criminal recklessness, and domestic battery with a prior conviction.
The deputy who fired his weapon has been identified as Landin Huff, who has one year of service with the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Department.
The case remains under investigation.
