The Shop Knox County buy-one, get-one eGift Card promotion sold out in just a few hours Thursday after launching at noon.
The Chamber of Commerce says heavy demand briefly overloaded the Yiftee system as hundreds of shoppers tried to log on at once. Chamber President Jamie Neal asked for patience as the company worked through those technical issues, telling shoppers the response was simply overwhelming.
By the end of the afternoon, it was mission accomplished. The Chamber reports 200-thousand dollars is now headed straight back into Knox County businesses through the program.
Chamber leaders thanked shoppers for their patience and support, and credited community partners for making the program possible, including the City of Vincennes, Knox County, Knox County Indiana Economic Development, the Knox County Community Foundation, and the Downtown Vincennes Association.
