Vincennes University is partnering with regional education and aviation leaders to launch a new workforce training initiative in southern Indiana.

Vincennes University, along with Prosser Career Education Center and the Clark County Regional Airport, will announce the Southern Indiana Aviation Initiative on Friday, January 23.

The program is designed to expand flight training and aviation maintenance education, creating new career pathways in the aviation industry. Organizers say the initiative will increase access to training while supporting workforce development and the regional economy.

The project is supported by funding from the State of Indiana and local partners.

Chuck Johnson, president of Vincennes University, is expected to join education and workforce representatives to outline details of the initiative.

The announcement is scheduled for this Friday 10 a.m. ET at the Osborne Hangar at the Clark County Regional Airport in Sellersburg. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. On-site parking will be available, and interviews will follow the event.
